Meet Tia


After 14 years of marriage and co-business ownership with my ex-husband, I packed everything I could fit in my car and drove away. It was FRIGHTENING to say the least. However, I would do it all over again.

The past 5 years of rebuilding my life from scratch have been extremely rewarding. I got to fall apart and rebuild my life to what “I” want it to be. I’m learning more each day to embrace change.

Comfort is death! We can all do whatever we want. Just take a step forward and don’t look back.

As the eldest of 4 daughters, forging my own path and setting an example has been engrained in me from the very beginning. Being a “BIG SISTER” means everything to me.

My 3 sisters were my 1st best friends, my babies, my taste testers and my RESPONSIBILITY when my parents were at work and especially when they both enrolled in college and took night classes the same year I started high school.

Although we’re adults now, I’m happy to know that my sisters still look to me for guidance and non-judgmental support at some of their toughest moments.

 

During my 12-year tenure as CEO & General Manager of Spectacular Painting & Contracting Services, I honed my leadership and business skills. The lessons learned during that time continue to lend themselves to my endeavors. Experience is, by far, the best teacher.

I’ve been able to avoid pitfalls with my ability to see around corners that I’ve already been! I enjoy sharing my life and business experiences with others in hopes that it helps them see things differently as they make decisions about what to do next.

Cooking is also a natural part of who I am. Growing up in the low country in South Carolina, my “Domestic Goddess” Mom and my aunties taught me how to cook.

I honestly cannot believe my mom allowed me to fry fish and prepare entire meals on a gas stove before I was a teenager! Fast forward to many years later and I’m still cooking. It’s relaxing and fulfilling and most importantly it’s one of the ways I share my love with others.

My passion for cooking and yummy recipe creations earned my original recipe for Mexican Alfredo a spot in the TASTE OF HOME 2012 Quick Cooking Annual Recipes cookbook. I also share recipes on my Youtube channel.

As a Business Consultant, Certified Floral Designer, Certified Color Consultant, Avid Reader and Creative Writer, my 10th grade ASVAB test results continue to show up in my life.

In a nutshell, it was revealed that I would be excellent in all areas that require the “PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER,” if you will. So naturally, Interior Design, Chef, Private Investigator and Newspaper/Magazine Editor, were Among the many careers I’d be naturally and perfectly suited for.

STARTING OVER and putting my life back together has been an AMAZING JOURNEY. Helping you do the same is my ultimate mission and life purpose.
